Our rules

How we handle data

Layer 1 — public

Only legal entities, only public rulings and decisions, always with source link, date and neutral wording.

Layer 2 — internal

Case knowledge from our own work stays internal and serves one purpose: running your case better. We never publish this.

Layer 3 — personal

For private landlords we report only to you — confidentially, in your own contract check.

What we do

  • Link every claim to a public, verifiable source
  • Give landlords a right to respond and correct
  • Remove profiles when the source basis disappears

What we never do

  • Rankings, scores or labels
  • Publish anonymous complaints or unverified reports
  • Public profiles of private landlords

FAQ

First, clarity

Is this a public warning list of landlords?

No. We only show facts from public sources, with source link and date. We do not give judgments, scores or labels and never publish anonymous complaints.

Can I do this myself for free through the Rent Tribunal?

Yes. The Rent Tribunal rent check is free and fees for a private tenant are usually € 25. We add bundled sources, an automatically supported points calculation and optional representation.

What does no cure, no pay with fee cap mean?

You only pay when there is a result: two months of realised monthly savings plus 25% of recovered rent, never more than € 1,500 in total. Loss or withdrawal before filing costs € 0.

I am a landlord and see my company here. What now?

Every profile shows public sources. If something is wrong or relevant context is missing, you can submit a correction with a source. We review it and show verified additions with the profile.

Can my landlord terminate my contract if I start a procedure?

Tenants have strong statutory rent protection and starting a procedure before the Rent Tribunal is a legal right. Before every case we assess your protection position, so you know exactly where you stand before anything goes to your landlord.

How quickly do I get my report?

The open rent check is immediate. You receive the contract check report by email within one business day — often faster.

Sign your next rental contract with open eyes.
